Children can develop seemingly irrational fears from a bad experience which gets caught up their thoughts.
For example, a child hears hear a story about monsters which catches their imagination and turns into a fear of monsters.
Children can feel trapped in their emotions as much as grown ups.
Their distress is made worse by the feeling that no one understands. Avoid invalidating your child’s feelings by calling them silly or irrational; they are genuinely frightening to your child.
The Fear Fixes
The Fear Fixes will help your child cope better with fearful thoughts.
The Fixes will focus on the experience which caused or established the fear and help your child to process the memory better: it will take the “scary” out of the experience.
You will be sent two downloads: the first, a full length one for your child to listen to for the first few days, or as long as it takes for them to feel better about the experience which caused their fear; the second, a shorter download to listen to for the remainder of the treatment (ten days or so) focussing on how to manage their feelings and change their state of mind.
Your child will feel more in control of difficult or overwhelming fears and empowered to change their state of mind.
